Muncie Endurathon water temps?

Does anyone know what the water temps are for the Muncie Endurathon? I was assuming it would be a non-wetsuit swim.

Anyone else going?

Jaret, I’m not sure what the temp is this year, but it has been wetsuit the two time I’ve done it. So, bring it with you. Also, get there early to get the mandatory meeting out of the way. A couple of years ago you had to go to the meeting before you check in.

Also, last year the water temp was above the wetsuit limit the evening before but spot on by morning. Some people had left their wetsuits in the car and wished they hadn’t. Since the hike from the car to transition is fairly long, let me recommend that you bring the wetsuit even if it seems like the water is too warm.

web site lists current water temp at 80, but rain this week might bring the temps down.

I would agree with those who have said to bring your wetsuit even if it looks unlikely to be legal Sat. AM. Last year I left mine back at the hotel since the night before the temp was posted at 82 …then 77 on race morning. If it had not been for the fog delay, I would have had to go without…

And right now the next couple of days calls for Muncie to get rain and have nighttime lows in the mid 60s…it will be close but with Mother Nature and the USAT refs, you never know!

See ya’ll in Muncie,

Paul

Thanks to everyone. I’ve been training without the wetsuit lately but would really like to race in one (cuz I’m faster with it)

I’ll make sure that I bring it.

The water temps will be measured friday about
noon to let all of you know at the race meeting.
The official call on water temp will be anoounced
at the transition on race day as quick as possible.

The call will be made per USAT rules.
