A guy at a local shop offered to build me a good bike with a wicked good discount - 20% over his cost because I am a tri club member. He is spec’ing the components, I just need to choose a frame.
The three I am looking at are:
Salsa Bandito - Scandium aluminum hard tail. 3 lb for the frame.
Salsa ala Carte - Steel hard tail 4.85lb for the frame.
Soma Groove - Steel hard tail, 4.25lb for the frame.
Anyone have experience with these? i am leaning toward Scandium because I have used it before and know it is strong.
I will be riding on fire roads and some single track. May use in some XTERRA type races. Lots of climbing in my parts, too.
Thanks,
John
