wife, sister and brother are MSU grads. All of wife’s siblings (3 sisters, 2 brothers) went to UM…hmmm…I’m going with Spartans!!
Of course, my Dad was a Buckeye. Every year for the UM vs. OSU game, he’d put the stereo speakers in the windows facing our downhill neighbor and blare the fight song. My neighbor would responsd with the U of M song. Each year it started earlier, and went longer.
Man, I love love (and miss) Midwest football!!

Denard Robinson and the UofM Season start their 2nd straight downward spiral after another Spartan Beatdown.
The MSU defense needs to play tough because our offense has been pretty anemic lately. If we can establish the run early on, we will start our ascent up the ranks of the AP.
I am one of those douche bags that like to wear a jersey on game day (I used to make fun of people like me). I got my Nike Pro Combat Gear Special Edition SpartanJersey in the mail the other day. I can’t believe I spent almost $100 (with tax and shipping) on a f*cking jersey. But my Charles Rogers #1 was ready for retirement. I should have put that money in my New Bike fund.
I will only be able to watch the first half of the game. My kids have soccer games at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm PST tomorrow.
Should be a good one.

The Dreadlock Jesus September Heisman campaign comes to an end. MSU hasn’t had much trouble shutting down UM’s high powered offenses in the last few years. This year they bring in the #1 ranked defense in the country. Time for the Wolverine’s annual fade.
Scrounging for a couple of tickets right now, they are pretty sparse.

I used to always bet on Michigan and every time they got my hopes up and it looked like they were on the way to a great season, they would lose so I have to take the Spartans.

The past few years have not been as close as the scores have indicated. State has been dominating UM as of late (even despite their attempts to lose games to us - i.e. 2009), and it’s been PAINFUL to watch.
I honestly think this could go either way this year. State has a great D, but I don’t know if it’s* as* good as their ranking due to their schedule. If their offense continues to sputter, it could be a low scoring day, like 10-7. However…
I’m calling Denard pulls another miracle out of thin air, UM - 24 MSU - 19 (okay, I’m not that confident we’ll win, but I can’t pick against my team, especially against State)

I no longer live in MI and it is difficult to explain the MSU v UM rivalry to those who have not experienced it. Was hoping to watch the game with some fellow MSU alums but instead am recovering from surgery so I will be planted in front of the TV. Go Spartans!!

M’s are a version of the ND night game jersey. Players didn’t know about them, they went out for the warmups in the standard away uniforms and came back to the white pants and alt jerseys in their lockers.
MSU’s are nike’s pro combat unis, only for this game.
I like State’s jersey… Michigans not so much.

yeah, all the pro combats have those. although i think some teams got penalized last year for doing the hands together thing…
i get what they were going for with the whole spartan thing, but it didn’t look like msu to me, looked like south florida.

F-Michigan for trying to trump our Pro Combat jersey’s with their “throwbacks”. MSU announced these jersey’s for this game a month ago. Go back to Ann Arbor - and Denard - enjoy another downward spiral to your season. Hoke-a-mania is no longer “running wild.”
