Mrs. Vitus wins again

Went out for another ride with Mrr. Vitus this morning. Found myself three or four lengths behind her at the start of a short, steep hill. My chance for revenge! I got out of the saddle and starting pounding away as stealthily as I could. Got to within a bike length before I stopped gaining on her, still hammering as hard as I could. She finally heard me huffing and puffing, casually glanced over, and then spun a little faster- still seated. I didn’t catch her.

I’m cagey, though. After the ride, I brought her bike to the shop to have the front derailleur adjusted and the handlebars adjusted for her. I told the guy to take his time with it. I already broke her old bike earlier this week. (not kidding.) Let’s see her outclimb me without a bike!

That was an excellent strategy. The smart man knows how to pick his battles, and lives to fight another day.

Real men can always beat their wives on the bike. The run doesn’t count - she beats me every time.

Ouch! That one’s gonna leave a mark.

You really know how to kick a guy when he’s down, CG.

Way to go Mrs. V!!! I love it!

Don’t worry, my man’s real enough and well, you know our story on the bike … … … I’m sure Mrs. V would agree. Unless you break her bike.

As far as CG, what do you expect from a compact Canadian chiropracter?

I try to plan any competitions around “that” time of month. She fatigues more easily.
