Is there anyone out there from Peachtree City Ga?
Looks like I’m moving there. Wondering if I could some get some information regarding bike routes, pools, and best places to run.

I don’t have much to say other than AVOID ALL OF THE DAMN GOLF CARTS!!!
I’ve been nailed by 2 carts being driven by 14 year olds on the paths out there so be careful.
I grew up there. Great running. Check out the Peachtree City Running Club. The riding is not bad once you get out of the city limits, if you are able to avoid the rednecks.

Oh yeah, Do you have kids? If so, you NEED to buy a golf cart. Not to golf… I don’t think the courses even let you use your own cart, but just to ride around.

Pretty much. PTC is covered in golf cart paths and some grocery stores even have golf cart parking spaces.
I assume this is because all of the Delta Pilots that live there golf a lot?

Correct.
There are roads, of course, but there is also a network of golf cart paths that go between neighborhoods and cover the entire city. Last I heard it was over 70 miles total.

spent 4 mos. there in 2004 and did my IMFLA training there. great place to train compared to atlanta in terms of biking. also has good gym and good pool (enclosed for winter). they host 2 good tri races each year in addition to many running events.
there is also an outdoor track open all the time. couple of decent bike shops.

Don’t live there, but been there, and yes, my BF IS a Delta pilot! And he would never, ever own a golf cart. He’d rather his damn bike or run. He keeps an extra bike down there at his crash pad!

Is the pool you mentioned 50 meter by chance? Where is the pool?

That’s too bad. I really just don’t see any benefit to a 25 yard pool for triathletes. You spend too much of the swim turning for it to really be effective. I may have to be in that area for awhile so I was hoping that they had a 50 meter pool somewhere.

they swim in lake on wednesdays…maybe if you contact them they swim other days as well. then one workout on short course won’t be so bad!
they just had several members of their club ride from san diego to jekyll…with journal
PTC also hosts 2 pretty good triathlons as well…may and august.
beside cart paths they have soft coated track for intervals if so inclined
