Move over weekly discussions of Biggest Loser and Battlestar, freaking LOST is back tomorrow night!

Just to get you in the mood, check out: http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20251960,00.html

Love his last theory. Watched some of the reruns of that last few episodes from last season over the weekend and it just seems I forget how great this show is when it isn’t around. Watched “The Constant” again, still my favorite episode. Although every single character is just great, the Penny and Desmond story is the one that stands out for me.

The wife and I rewatched all of season 4 over the last couple weeks. Looking forward to it.

As usual always expecting it to completely jump the shark but they always surprise me.

I just got Season 4 for Christmas and just finished watching it last week…

Am really looking forward to this season and the finale of the show.

Anyone ever read Steven King’s “Dark Tower” series? It ends (essentially) right back where it started as if nothing in the 7 book sequence had ever taken place…an endless spiral of time and space.

Eerily like where I see Lost headed! I think it would be totally cool to end the show for good with the opening scenes of the show showing Jack waking up in the Jungle…

Yeah, I’m onboard this one as well as Battlestar. Actually they’re the only two shows I watch so this is like a late Christmas present for me.

Battlestar has gotten so dark, although I guess that’s what you would expect in that situation. But let some of the human spirit show through sometimes, geez. Thought we were getting that with Dualla this week, then they kick you in the gut there. Lost is serious, and sometimes dark, but also sometimes laugh out loud funny. That’s what sets it apart. Watched a little of the episode last night where Locke finally finds the Cabin, and the scene with Hurley and Ben sitting outside splitting a candy bar is priceless. And not a word was said. That’s the difference between Lost and BSG and what puts Lost above BSG.

Fuck LOST! Yeah, I said it! Seriously, has there EVER been a more aggravating show or a show that makes you work harder than LOST??? Seriously! I had an easier time studying for the bar exam than trying to keep up with LOST. I’m sick of it and I AINT GONNA TAKE IT ANYMORE!!!

That said … I will be tuning in tomorrow night …

… fuckers! …

Seriously! I had an easier time studying for the bar exam than trying to keep up with LOST.

It’s infuriating as well as challenging at the same time. I just REALLY hope it doesn’t go off the deep end and there is a plausible, interesting and surprising ending to this little story…otherwise I’m gonna be pissed.

Ditto, so much build up you would think they can’t possibly deliver in the end. But these guys have delivered year in and year out so far. This season is all about time travel I hear, so it will be interesting how they keep it scientifically grounded. Without some of the episode reviews the day after an episode, I find it hard to keep up with all the references.

You’re right. When my wife watched the first couple of season of BSG she was hooked big time, and she’s not a sci-fi fan. But once they got to New Caprica it seems it’s been nothing but depressing shows. She eventually gave up watching. Granted, I still really like it but they do need to get some sort of victory or lighthearteness in it.

I’m also a little frustrated that they made this stuff up as they went along. Ron Moore said in an interview that they didn’t know who the final Cylon would be until the end of last season and they had to go back and “pick” who it could be. He really needed to take notes from JMS who created Babylon Five. Now that show was the bomb and held a coherent story arc for the entire five seasons. Wouldn’t it be cool if you could go back to the early episodes and put the pieces together and figure out a lot of this stuff? B5 did just that. It all made sense in the end.

Sorry, back to your regularly scheduled Lost discussion…

Wouldn’t it be cool if you could go back to the early episodes and put the pieces together and figure out a lot of this stuff?

I’m hoping that lost will do the same. If the end doesn’t tie it all together it pretty much means everything was “Make it up as you go” like a soap opera.

~Matt

I don’t think that will be the case with Lost. I read that the creators have the entire story outline locked away in case something happens to them. This is essentially what J. Michael Strazynski did with B5. Although, with so many more story threads going on in Lost, I’m betting not all will be neatly tied up in the end.

Can you say “LOST: The Movie” ???

It could end nearly as bad as the X-Files.

"has there EVER been a more aggravating show or a show that makes you work harder than LOST??? "

…um…yes, it was called Twin Peaks…about 20 years ago…

But I’ll still tune in – still enjoying it…but on my last few fibers of patience…

I just watched the C-Files movie. Wow did that suck. I was a big X-Files fan, that was NOTHING like the X-Files, it was bad.

I don’t know they do a really good job at killing people off…and thus ending the story line. The only thing they really have to explain WELL is what exactly is going on with a few things, dead people, black smoke, moving the island etc etc which can kinda be tied up in one definition I would suspect.

I would think the individual story lines could die off.

Actually, Battlestar has been dark from the get go (2003 mini-series) and that’s what I like about it ! And from rumors we shouldn’t expect a happy ending, either ,

You are right, I should say darker. The early episodes had some levity. Lately, none.

“Twin Peaks” FANTASTIC show!

Never seen one episode of LOST.

And the plot thickens as we learn that the 13th tribe were Cylons ! And that The final four were alive 2 thousand years ago…and whats up with Kara ??? Good stuff, come on Friday !!

Really shouldn’t you be out running or something instead of watching tv? Mrs Bubbles has your number next race, and my $5 says so. Hell, I might even throw $.50 on Thompson vs you.
