Commencal Met 4.1 for just under $2,000? All high-end components. Looks like a great deal. Anyone know for sure?
It’s a “Meta” 4.1 right?
Is it used or new?
Exactly what are the “high end” parts?
It’s not a racing bike…it’s a bit on the heavy side. If you don’t intend to compete in XC racing or Xterra triathlons with it then that’s fine. If you are looking for a race bike that’s not it.
I betcha that B will bomb down hills.
I wouldn’t wanna pedal it up.
New. All SRAM XO and Shimano XT components. Fox Float rear shock, etc.
What type of riding are you doing?
Mainly fire roads and non-technical single track with plenty of climbing. I don’t race, but my current FS rig is very heavy…almost 40lbs with low-end components, so almost anything is an improvement.
NOT the bike for that.
If $2000 is the budget, I’d steer you towards a lightweight hardtail with a tubeless wheelset.
Thanks for the advice.
I second the vote for the lightweight hardtail.
i would suggest taking $1000 and upgrading your components and rims. if your not racing it, who cares what the weight is, it will just make your road or tri bike feel that much lighter!
I ride an old GT I-drive xcr200 FS…I just recently upgraded some of the components, wheels what the huge difference. You can find great deals on stuff out there on the web. I also suggest looking for older XT or XTR parts out there. You can still find em new…
I think you’ll be thrilled with a bike like this:
