Motivation (some gas for your fire)

Virginia – Rainy, windy, and dark today.
Brick workout planned…. Smells like a stationary bike / treadmill day.

I found this old clip on the web and it spoke to me.

Outside it is…

While riding, my HED 3’s were bucking in the cross wind. Rain felt like small bee stings…

My “M frames” cut through the rain… The music from the video was stuck in my head bidding me to dig harder.

Snot, drool, sweat, and Cytromax stringing off my chin.

It wound up being one of the most enjoyable training day of the spring.
Glad I took it outside.

18.2 weeks until Blue Devil 140.6

I just came across that again recently too. That and the Gatorade IM commercial are my favorites, always get me pumped!

Thanks, hadn’t seen that in a while. Still cool.

Not much Lance hype leading up to this year’s TDF. Not unexpected after last year’s overload, but it is interesting how little is “out there” now. It’ll probably change in the next few weeks, no doubt…

That is a great one and gave me chills. Are the Gatorade IM commercial or any other motivationals commercials online?

Barefoot

Sure thing, enjoy:

Excellent work, paco. Nothing like training when no one else is…

Good for you.

I ran four all alone this morning, followed up immediately by a session at the outdoor long-course pool here. Fairly cool but muggy out, with a threat of rain that turned into raindrops on the way home. I was the only one at the pool. It all sucked at the time. Looking back, however, it rocked–and I am stronger now than this morning.

Three days to Macon…

Great video. It’s the first time that I have ever seen it. One of the child cancer patients in the hospital is actually one of the honor heros for my last Team In Training season. She isn’t doing so well, unfortunately.

The Gatorade gets me pumped up. I think I’m going to get up early tomorrow and ride instead of riding on the spin bike at the gym. I need to get out on the road.

This one is my favorite. It makes me forget any petty troubles in my life. …Focus.

Rolling the old Softride out of the garage into the wind and rain didn’t feel great to begin with.

but after 1/4 mile the elements were a non-issue.

I can only tolerate the Gym during the winter months.

Thanks for the link. I was telling somone at work the story about Chris Legh at the 1997 Ironman and asked them if they had seen this commercial, they had not so I told him to watch for it. Now I can email the link.
