More than one kind of SRAM Red Rear Derailleur?

I noticed some say “small cage” and some don’t Is there actually two different ones? Or are they all small cage and some just list it and some don’t?

I am talking about the one listed as 153g weight and max tooth 28t. I don’t see a model number listed my anyone.

Also some specify must be used with SRAM 10s Double Tap levers. I assume this is in error. I will be using mine on a tri bike without double tap levers.

Thanks in advance for the help

They can all be used with TT shifters. They just mean you shouldn’t use them, for example, with Campy shifters (TT or Ergopower).

I don’t believe there is more than one version. I think the short-cage RD is the ONLY option. What that means is that you can’t use it with a triple, which would require a long-cage RD.

Basically they are specifying that it’s a short-cage derailleur, which doesn’t necessarily imply that there actually is a long-cage version. (By contrast, I think there are some low-end derailleurs, say Shimano Sora or something, that might only come in long-cage versions.)

There’s only one SRAM Red Rear Derailleur, short cage Shimano’s mean for use with a double crankset, but SRAM doesn’t make a triple. Yes, it works fine with SRAM bar end shifters. Some people say it’ll work but I never mix brands as far as rear derailleur and rear shifter.

You type even faster than you race…

Thanks a ton. Off to buy my new rear derailleur
