Here are some of the very interesting catch phrases that many athletes are using today when asked about drugs, and their secret meanings…

  1. “I’m not taking drugs.” ( you see, there is nothing in my mouth or hands right now. Should have seen me yesterday though.)

  2. “I have never tested positive for illegal drugs.” ( My doctor is better than the drug testers, and I have more money than they do to stay one step ahead.)

  3. “I did not have sexual relations with that woman.” ( Everyone knows that blow jobs are not real sex. Just don’t ask your wife or girlfriend to agree with you on that one…

Just for once, I’d like to hear someone say that I have never taken illegal performance enhancing drugs. It is like they are positioning themselves to tell the so called truth, by using Clintonisque termonolgy. Just for the record, I’m not taking drugs, I have never tested positive for illegal drugs, I’m not having sex with other women, and "I’VE NEVER TAKEN ANY DRUGS, I’M NOT TAKING ANY DRUGS, AND I WILL NEVER TAKE ANY DRUGS TO IMPROVE MY PERFORMANCE. THERE YOU HAVE IT. Oh ya, I’m not getting any blow jobs from other women either, honey…

Yeah, he’s said flat out he’s never taken drugs. Marion Jones et al in the track world usually say something to the effect of “I’ve never, ever tested positive for drugs”, which is not saying the same thing as what Lance has said in the past.

the catch phrase that ticks me off the most nowadays is

‘I have never taken any banned substances’

which conveniently sidesteps performance enhancing substances that aren’t banned yet (because they aren’t known for example).
