2)So thaaaaat’s what an elbow to the right eye socket feels like!"

Its funny, all I remember thinking about right before the start was what the hell am I doing here 10 feet off the pier about 10 people back from the line. Seemed like there were a million people behind me. I had taken my where to start advice from someone with a lot of experience but who is also clearly crazy. I was very concerned and being worried about 1800 people running over me in the next 2 minutes kept me from worrying about the however many hours to follow. Turned out to be a great place to start and the most contact free swim of the year.
