More F'N snow in Denver? MLBDenver, Z Dog, AmyCO, say it ain't so

I’m flying back to Denver today and have been told I’m returning just before another sizeable snow storm. Can anyone in CO confirm that for me? Online weather sources always seem ambigious and too general for me to trust them.

Every place says the storm is coming Thursday, not today. United.com says everything is running normal and full operation today.

clm, flying through Denver tonight

Another front range type storm? I wonder how much the mountains are getting? Sorry for all you guys out in Denver and /or trying to fly in or out of Denver…again…happy holidays!

isn’t this where we all chime in with uh oh…global warming effects?

you will be fine today. The storm will be here tomorrow night /Friday. There is some question if it will hold together or split. If it splits we are looking at 3-6 if it holds it will be 12+. From what I hear we will not see anything until later tomorrow regardless

It was pretty nice yesterday…my car said almost 60 when I was driving so the snow is melting fast. It doesn’t look quite as sunny today though. If we get a fair amount of snow this week and it stays cold the roads are going to be a mess for cycling for a while. OTOH, winter park is looking pretty nice right now.

Yeah, another foot with temps in the 20s-30s like they say for the weekend means lots of trainer time for me. Did 4 hours the other day. Sucks for running even unless you run down the middle of a street! If we get another 12+ people will freak out.

I’m hoping NOT; as my street was plowed for the first F-ing time only 12 hours ago !!! ParkerTriclub also has a “Reolution Run” on the 31st and I’d rather use my Kayano’s than snow shoes. The weather reports last night looked unreliable. The forecaster early Tuesday evening said that the storm needs to be watched as it could veer off a hundred miles or so and that it could totaly miss the metro area. Later last night the forecasters seemed to be using herd mentality and claiming we are definitely getting hit on Thursday. Who knows until then ??

I hope it snows in the mountains as that is where I plan to be on Thursday. Anyone want to join me? Copper is likely…

We just pulled in (after 12 hours in the car from Oklahoma) and I feel like crying. We still have mounds and mounds of snow and, yes, more is on the way – lots more, if the forecasts are correct. We were planning on heading up to Beaver Creek to ski on Friday. Not looking too good.

On the upside, the weather today in OK, KS, and CO was great and the drive was uneventful.

I’m back in Denver now. You wouldn’t believe what the Pikes Peak lot looks like at DIA. Anyways, my street still hasn’t been plowed from last week’s storm (Z Dog, I feel your pain).

I can’t believe I’m going to have to navigate my way to downtown Denver in the snow again…I need to get rid of the Jetta.

Good luck heading up to BC on Friday. I’m hoping to get up to Vail to ski on Saturday, but since I’ve been out of the office for a week, I don’t think the cards will be in my favor.

Rodio,

I might hit Vail on Saturday as well. Want to carve some turns together ? I don’t know that I’ll be able to get up there or not(obviously) but I am going to attack my driveway and part of my street with my 17hp lawn tractor monster plow as soon as the flakes start accumulating !

I ordered snow tires to help with driving the day after blizzards. They were scheduled for delivery Friday but now they’re delayed due to the weather.

That pretty much means we won’t get any more snow the rest of the year too.

Z-Dog,

Assuming we can make it up to Vail (9 News was reporting the snowstorm blowing into Saturday, making that morning commute pretty brutal), I’m definitely game. If I can’t make it up on Saturday, I’m going to go on Sunday. If that works for you, then we should definitely meet up.

Rick

It’s snowing. A lot. I went to the grocery store this morning (along with everyone else in my neighborhood, apparently). They were out of eggs, but were fairly well stocked otherwise.

I hope you don’t get caught at the office.

I am at my office in Lakewood… can’t wait for the drive across town and really looking forward to doing it tomorrow too. My wife was at the store yesterday and said they had no produce or fruit, which sucks for us, but plenty of other stuff. The worst part is this means a long ride and run inside this weekend and getting to the pool tonight and tomorrow will be rough.

Thanks, Amy. And that’s a true story; it is snowing a lot. I came out our office gym after a run on the treadmill, and it had really picked up in the 1:20 that I was in there. I’m bailing out of the office shortly, as I have no desire to get caught in this again. Trying to drive home last Wednesday was pretty brutal.

Didn’t see you post until tonight. How about this snow? This is insane! But I likey

These last two storms have come at a bad time for me (work-wise). I’ve had too much going on to miss days because of something like the snow, and when I’m out of the office because of the snow, I get very restless and stressed that work will pile up beyond my control.

If I lived in Breck and had a treadmill and an endless pool in my house, I’d be extremely pleased with all the snow…

Sucks that you are not able to enjoy it :frowning:
