Yeah, I know the front tire doesn’t match… It’s a Veloflex Record… it’s the only color and it’s FAST! I am about to put one on the back as well. I Love this ride.
A beautiful pastoral setting no less!
The Bonty RXL Pro’s are all-black, and fast, and would look KILLER on that bike.
You need to give that rear seatpost position the bidness w/ a hacksaw, a la what Rappstar did.
With extreme predjudice.
Will look much nicer w/o that extraneous bit o’ junk hanging back there.
Nice ride.
Nothing wrong with mismatched tires. The VF is great for the front. I like the Bonty RXL Pro for the rear, though…just a bit more tire…and more comfort…but all black.
I have literally worn that MPR3 out in 2K miles… I won’t be getting another one. I just received my other FV Record in the mail yesterday and will be using it for my next race.
I would hacksaw that damned post but in 2 more weeks I am thinking about putting the seat in the back position and throwing some road bars and some STI shifters on till early next season and ride it as a “road” bike. It’s the only bike I have at the moment! We’ll see.
Check out your new ride Ryan. Nice.
2k for a PR3 on the rear is about right. I wouldn’t throw out the baby with the bathwater. You wouldn’t get much more than that out of any other high-end racing/training tire on the rear. Front would be more like 3-3.5k before needing changed.
^ Hey thanks Herbert! Your bike is BAD ASS too!
The problem I ran into this year was using the 808 PTap for training and racing. I just add the wheel cover when I race. Well, I race every Wednesday night! I had a set of training tires but it is such a huge pain in the ass to swap tires ones a week. It literally take 30 minutes of knuckle busting to get a Pro Race 3 on a Zipp rim. Who wants to do it each week? So I left it on there… Latex tube and all. Then ou have to adjust the wheel clearance for the bigger tire. The PR3 has several nasty cuts in it and is on it’s last leg. I will put the VF Record on this Tuesday night before the race. after all my races… back to something more puncture resistant.
