Mooseman Bike split Powerfile jpeg analysis

Guys,

Here is a jpeg from my bike split at Mooseman:
2:46 209 Ave Watts 2081 Kjoules 3.32W/kg average ~82% of FTP pace (255 FTP)

The “slightly higher” power section before the big coasting section is what I called the “moose-zilla” hill. You can see on loop 2, I pushed the power higher, because I was freezing and it was the only way to warm up. Again I also went harder on the climb ending loop 2 (around 78k on my chart that includes 7K warmup ride) than loop 1 (around 45K on my chart). Anyway, any analysis and feedback is appreciated.

Purple line is power, yellow is cadence. If you look at this as a “5 leg course” you can see my average for each leg gradually falling visually…as I got colder and colder and was cramping worse and worse.

I’m just impressed that you finally learned how to download your SRM.

I don’t think you can read too much into your declining power, given the conditions and their effect on you. Sometimes, shit happens.

But - if your FTP is 255 and you’re still around 145 lbs, then you’ve got yourself some big problems on Whiteface tomorrow my friend.

How did your run go? Otherwise this is just a powerfile in a vacuum with no context.

255W and 140 fully clothed today (work clothing and shoes, which is around the same as helmet, bike shoes and pedals). 255 is aerobar FTP. I can generate a few more watts with a mix of sitting up and standing, but not much more…so yes, likely more trouble than last year AND I had not done a half IM 4 days ago last year.

Not well. 1:36 which is 14 minutes slower than the previous week’s half marathon on an easier course. We can call the delta 12 minutes. I just went from cold to colder to coldest on the bike and never beat the cramps from the cold during the run. Total calories were good (around 1500). The problem was that I had to work harder than I would have preferred on the climbs to actually warm up. Its hard to see in the graph.

what program are you using? Where is the NP number? That is the one that counts.
