OK, so I know there may be less than 5% of the ST population who would even give a crap about whether I’m around posting or not, so this is for them. (and apoligies for the 95%, hit back now on your browser and carry on, as you were.)
Starting 11/15/06 I’ll be taking my annual sabbatical from posting on internet forums.
I’ve noticed that during the offseason the signal-to-noise ratio goes way up (not just for triathlon, but for other sports as well) , but mostly, I waste way too much time online, so this is one way to deal w/ 2 problems at the same time.
Depending on how long my resolve holds out, I’ll be back either on the Ides of March or Tax day. In the meantime, have a Happy or a Merry or a Blessed whatever you may or may not celebrate, and I wish health, happiness and prosperity to you and your families. I hope the offseason treats you all well, and you come back ready to set massive PB’s in '07
If anybody needs to contact me over the winter, PM me in the next 2 days and I’ll give ya my e-mail address. (It’s my first name.last name @ the large financial institution I work for.com)
Oh, and hold me to this for when I come back: I WILL improve my swimming over the winter (at a minimum learn to do flip turns), and I WILL run 5-6x / wk between now and my return.
I’ll give this a bump or 2 between now and Wed am, then fade off into the sunset for the winter…
You and Dev, Yoda, et al. can talk all the smack about me you’d like. Pretend I’m here, and have at it
Dev - I need to swim, not read about swimming, not post about swimming.
(did I just say that??)
PS - Dev, be afraid, be very afraid. I dunno how much improvement I can make on the swim or not (it hasta be better than this year at a minimum, just by virtue of not taking off totally from Oct-Feb), but I’m also gonna upgrade the run. I’ll put myself on the hook right now - look for 1:25 or better off the bike at Tupper Lake from me.
Judging by the size of my rear end at the moment, I will be hard pressed to break 2:25 on the Tupper Lake run next year. Well, at least I’ll have lots of momentum for the downhills. Long live doughboyland…as Peter Reid says, train heavy race light (hopefully I can get to the “race light” part).
