I’ll be the first to admit that I am perhaps the biggest pain in the butt bike store customer in Chicagoland. I’ve spent more time buying a bike than a house. Just ask my wife. My experience with Mission Bay has been exceptional compared to other bike stores. When other stores couldn’t fit me the way I wanted Mission did what others couldn’t. I was fortunate to have a Softride RocketWing which was a quality control nightmare. Bill at Mission Bay was there to replace the bolts, adjust the sleeve, and ultimately get me a replacement beam 5 days before Ironman Hawaii.
Last fall, I did business with another local bike store and ended up with a disaster. An unfulfilled order and a bike that wasn’t spec’d as disclosed. No phone calls returned, no fulfilled order over a 4 month period. I have nobody to blame but myself. Recently, I explained the situation to both Chris and Bill at Mission Bay and before I knew it they were trying to solve a problem that had nothing to do with them. They could have told me tough! Go deal with the store that sold you the bike! They didn’t.
I cannot say enough about the service that they have provided me. Whenever I have placed a phone call regarding a product or an order, the follow up is amazing.
They have earned my business and respect.
