I ran into a problem with one of tubular tires so I might have to resort putting on a tire to the front wheel that is different than the rear. The rear is Schwalbe Ironman Tubular and the from would be Vittoria Evo Corsa CX. Thoughts on this?
I hardly ever run the same tire on both wheels. Can’t think of any problem other than mismatching if that kind of stuff bothers you.
Even for race wheels and racing?
Whatever you do, make sure the faster tire is on the front and the slower tire is on the back. if the fast tire is on the back, it will overtake the front tire and cause a crash.
1 tubular and 1 clincher?
Just different brands?
I always want my race wheels/tires to match…but it is more of a mindset for racing faster than anything. You should be fine. I have raced on mismatched wheels and tires in the past without issues.

yes no worries.
I always have a smaller tire on the front of my bike than rear… no issues.

Your non-solution causes stress fractures in the frame as tidal forces attempt to tear it apart.

Well, yeah, but it’s only for one race, so the OP might be able to complete the race without the frame exploding. Maybe take the wheels off after dismounting in T2?
