Mirror for Cow Horn Handlebar Setup:

I have a Vision cowhorn handlebar setup (with aerobars). Because the brakes are inserted into the end of the cowhorns, I cannot attach a mirror like the majority of handlebars will accept. Any suggestions on mirror systems which would work? BTW, I have tried mirrors attached to a helmet and absolutley hate them. Thanks. Barry

This is called the Italian Bicycle Mirror. Available here:

It has four rubber “tenticles.” I cut one of them off and, by manipulating and taping the rest down, I got this to work quite effectively. I’ve made it work on a wide range of basebars including Vision (pictured), Easton Attack … even 3T Ventus.

This looks exactly like what I need!! Thanks very much, I just put in an order for one. And for the ST gang, no I will not be using this for racing, just training (my initials aren’t KM). :-))

r-i-g-h-t…

I thought I would at least try to clarify, but there are always the skeptics :-))

It would be perfectly acceptable in a race, where vehicles often come from behind just like any other road.

Yeah, especially those pesky Draft Marshalls on those near-silent Honda GoldWings...

draft marshall? what are those? do they even exist?

I’m talking about (a) the open road, and (b) cars.

Mirrors are a sign of an experienced cyclist, and likely explains why you don’t see them in triathlon.

Nieve answer!
I know mr Kona Express
He would not use in a race

Ha, but even the website says:

This road bike specific mirror is great to keep an eye on traffic, or your competition…

ditto on psycholists post. the most important part is cutting one of those “tentacles” then, the positioning is so easy. I need a mirror because I’m blind in my left eye… so, looking over the shoulder is not effective… NOW, I can stay aero and glance over and check traffic and other riders…
