Minoura Bottle Mount- Help!

For anyone who has experience with the behind-the-seat Minoura bottle mount, I need help. Tom D was nice enough to send me one and I’ve been very satisfied with the position, etc. However, I can’t keep the darn thing tight to my seat. I crank down on the screws before every ride and race, and by the end of the ride or race it’s wiggling again. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

I took the extra piece of staw from my jetstream aero bottle, cut it in two, sliced the pieces down the middle and put them on my seat rails. They act like washers and so far have kept the thing tight for over 1000 miles.

My LBS put self locking nuts on the back side of my bracket. I haven’t had a problem since. The also put washers on each of the screws between the mount and the bracket to prevent over tightening.

Here is what I did and have not had a problem since. Take out the plate, and drill the holes out so they are just big enough for the screws to got through without binding up. Then get some nylon lock nuts and lock washers. slide the screws through the cage, but between the cage and metal plate I used some black rubber grommetts. These compressed nicely and keep the metal plate from bending but allow you to lock those nuts down nice and tight. I have had mine on for about 3000 miles with no problems at all.

Let me dust this off again. It seems to come up monthly.
