Minneapolis run spots

Will be staying downtown Minneapolis, Saturday-Tuesday. I have a 15 mile race pace run for Sunday morning, which I would like to do outside…any suggestions?

There’s a great path along the Mississippi River. You can do varying distance loops, and come up with 15 pretty easily. You can probably run from your hotel to get there too.

If you have a car, you could run the lakes (Calhoun/Harriet/Lake of the Isles)…

The other 2 posters are right on. I’d actually suggest a hybrid; run to Missippi River Road and then you can go through tree lined streets past some parks to do a loop of the aforementioned lakes. Should easily be doable within 15mi. The lakes have really nice biking/running paths.

Thanks! I will certainly do this.

I agree with other posts. To be more specific, if you are downtown, start on the W. River Road going south from theStone Arch Bridge to Minnehaha Falls Park (about 13 miles round trip+/-). To add more, follow the Parkway west to approx the Lake Nokomis Community & turn around and go back on same route (about 15 miles +/-). There is water & a porta john on right before you go up the hill to go under the Franklin Bridge. A water pump on the left just before Lake Street and water & restrooms at M’haha Falls park. Enjoy.
