Does anyone know of a hotel out in Montauk (somewhere right in town preferably) that doesn’t require a 2 night minimum stay for the race weekend?

I’m seriously thinking of signing up-and mainly because it’s a cheap race for us NYCers to do (no car rental expenses-just take LIRR out and back). However, that sort of is negated by the fact that all the hotels I’ve contacted require at least 2 nights stay.

Does anyone know of a place that doesn’t have a min. night requirement? The place I stayed 2 years ago (Shepherd’s Beach motel) let us stay for one night then, but they’ve changed their rules since then it seems like.

I know min. nights req’s are common there for the summer season–but normally it isn’t the case after Labor day…

Have you tried Montauk Manor? I don’t know about their race-weekend policy, but their rates after Labor Day are very reasonable, and it is a really nice hotel. Most (all?) of the rooms have kitchens.

Just called them–they also require a 2 night min. stay. Thank you though for your response! (I guess I just have to make a decision on whether I want to do this race badly enough to pony up all the cash)

Did you look into (and are you interested) in campsites? There are quite a few in the Montauk area and I don’t think they require a minimum stay, but they do fill up. Just a thought.
