I’m surprised no one here has reviewed this yet. I would do a review of it but I’m still processing. But I will say: crazy but good. Very well done. The director, Ari Aster is a true artist who doesn’t cut corners.
But crazy.

But crazy.
I saw it last week. Two things:
I will never look at Swedes in the same trusting way again
I’ve been told I’m never allowed to pick the movie again
spoiler alert:
I think the director started off down a great path, playing up the anthropological, cultural differences angle, but then seemed to shift into all out horror-gore mode by the end, in ways that felt a little manipulative and gratuitous. It’s definitely one to think about, all things considered, but overall, I didn’t really enjoy the experience in hindsight, which is kind of the point.
