get the Lotus Elise instead, less yuppie

and if it was a true mid-life crisis you’d be looking into the Z8
.

I’d go for the “mid-life crisis” and the Element. FWIW, I had a '99 version of the bike pictured below, and I do my best not to think about it, because I can’t afford one right now. If I were in your position, I’d have another one, or probably something tamer like an Interceptor that I could get a custom fabbed mount put on to haul my bicycle around on and put my gear in the optional hard saddlebags.

"if it was a true mid-life crisis you’d be looking into the Z8 "

true, if I were 50 I could probably afford the Z8, but the Z4 is so damn sexy, 0-60 in 5.9 secs

i should probably skip this idea, as it will probably get me into trouble.

“I’d go for the “mid-life crisis” and the Element.”

Yeah, funny I just got my motorcycle permit last Oct, took the safety courses, but the ex has the new Harley now, so I am bikeless

I could get a sport bike and an Element for less then the Z4, but I dont much like the thought of crashing a sport bike

You are right, the Element is a wise choice though, it was made for cyclists.

The Z4 looks super-but unless your small in stature you won’t fit in it!

Gary, don’t do it. Buy the Element. It’s cooler anyway.

If you are going to buy a BMW then get a big-assed 7 series with armored windows and a bald guy dressed in a black turtleneck to drive it for you. Then you’ll be cool. Anything less and you’re just like the rest of us… A poser.

And definately don;t date a 19 year old topless dancer. That is more expensive than the BMW (and much more dangerous).

Good luck boss…

2 things:

  1. Rotor crank sales are obviously doing well

  2. Mid-life crisis? I think I read once that you are 32 or 33. If this is right isn’t that a little young for a mid-life crisis. I at least hope it is too young for a mid-life crisis since I am 33 as well.

Edit: I re-read the title, and “mid-ish” was the key word.

"And definately don;t date a 19 year old topless dancer. "

sound advice, thanks Tom, you obviously see the point of the Z4

I am in search of my NEXT mid life crises ride…old Vette…Dodge Viper…??

“1. Rotor crank sales are obviously doing well”

Yes, but the California housing market has done very, very well.

Well, I am catching up on all the fun I missed in my 20’s, now that I am single again. See above post from Tom/

I’ve seen some pics of you on here Sam, and I can say with 100% authority this car fits you better.

I am recently single again myself. It is an exciting prospect to be able to spend my money for a change. Maybe I’m ready for “mid-ish life crisis too”.

OOOOOOOOO nice…I am going to get a Porsche Cayenne SUV me thinks…to haul the bike and gear…

My MCoupe can actually haul a bike too and is hellish fast. Best of both worlds.

Nice Herbert!

“I am going to get a Porsche Cayenne SUV me thinks”

Too small, I looked into it, this is another one I checked out, it is $42k I think, about the same price range as the Z4

I also looked into the X3 and X5, but I already have a pickup, so that was the point of the Z4

Herbert: I thought of you when posting this, why not go for the X3? Probably because of the poor ratings.

You need to be honest with yourself: The Lotus Elise Federal is a WAY better midlife crisis car - and as a 22 year old I’m fully qualified to make that statement.

I truthfully have not driven the Cayenne yet…I am also considering a Infiniti FX35 or 45 for my driver car…THEN I will get another fun ride.

i liked that fact that many people thought (and probably still do) that the MCoupe is ugly, but I personally was smitten with the looks when it was still a concept car. Many people used to call it “hightop tennis shoe” and “honda civic on steroids” but never SLOW. It actually goes as fast as 150 and from 0-60 in 5 sec flat or even under if a good driver is at the wheel.
