I often say something similar to this when people claim “We have to have two incomes just to make it by”. Our grandparents where able to make it buy on one income because they simply didn’t have as much SHIT! WE could all probably make it by on one income per family in a house that was half the size, maybe one car…maybe, a tiny 6" BW TV…Maybe, no computer, no microwave, no cell phones 1 or two pair of shoes, 1 tenth the amount of cloths, no flying from here to there 1, 2, 3 times a year etc etc etc.
Most of us need to jobs per household because we have so much STUFF and most of it we don’t NEED but just want.
I wouldn’t give up my life for my grandparents life for nothing. I’ve got it good compared to them, great even. But compared to a lot of people around me…my life sucks
