Does anyone has experience with Microshift bar end shifters?
I had a pair and liked them a lot. They are easier to shift than the da ones in my opinion
Thanks, i was told to stay away from the road shifters, but I want to try microshifts on my next TT bike
.
i like the ones that are on my felt. i never had any issues with them. but i dont have any experience with any other shifter.

I agree. I have them on my Felt. I’ve borrowed my neighbor’s Orbea a few times and it has DA bar end on it. They seemed really hard to shift compared to the Microshift.

I have both. The microshift are much easier to shift. I use the da ones. But, there is nothing wrong with the microshift. It’s more of an brand thing for me.

Road shifters work well, too.
I personally did not have experience with them. the guys said “not so good” I have no idea what it meant, but I never seen microshifst on my group rides.
I have them on my cannondale slice and haven’t had a problem with them. Once they loosen up after a few rides they work like a charm. If they come out with something like a SRAM R2C shifter I would be all over them as well. I too was a little skeptical to start of with but very happy with them
My GF’s bike has them on it, they work well.

You know when you pull your DA bar end shifters off your extensions and all the pieces fall all over the floor? Yeah, so that doesn’t happen with MicroShift.
Have them on my Felt, they are great.

We helped develop these with Micro.shift and the goals were a more ergonomic shape (the newest version has a much better grip area) as well as a lighter shift effort and a micro-indexed front shifter. They were considerably lighter than the Dura-Ace version when introduced. As another posted mentioned the mechanism is “captured” to aid assembly and they’ve been kind enough to provide whatever anodized colors for the individual pieces that we choose.
The new 11 speed versions were just finished and introduced to retailers in the USA via QBP and we’ve also done some IGH shifters with Microshift.

Thanks Dave, I put Microshifters on my Christmas list!!!

And that right there is the great selling point of MicroShift. No more spilled pieces. I just installed some last night. I haven’t ridden them yet, but installation and adjustment sure was easy. And they feel like they shift well too. I’m excited for the test ride.

Dave,
I think you did a good job.
Last two days I got my hands (actually fingers) on both Dura-Ace and MicroSHIFT 10 speed. Not installed, just playing with them on my desk.
First, the Microshifts are lighter. Then, they are much easier to turn. Another thing I liked is that Microshift has adjustable tension, but Dura-Ace – not adjustable and very hard. I do not know if it will be easier as they work more.
Also, I believe that Microshift are better designed, because the wedges that hold the shifter inside the bar is not smooth like Shimano. I think it will hold better and will not turn around. And I liked the touch of red color. I will have to make a decision what shifters I leave and what to send back, but I am seriously leaning towards the MicroSHIFT.
PS. I have to consider to buy Microshifts for my road bike too.
Thanks, the tactile feel was the most important thing we worked on to get right. It wasn’t going to be enough to be as good as Dura Ace. They had to be better. The latest 11 speed version we developed has a friction option and additional accent colors.
