As an '03 graduate of Appalachian State I can honestly say I am not suprised. We have been trying to schedule games with the ACC for years and the only ones they will agree to are basketball (in which ASU is less than stellar); based on this game it looks like they have good reason not to.
I love it when the “big” schools underestimate the “small” ones. Michigan can kiss the BCS goodbye!

Not a Die Hard Michigan fan. But what will this do for Ohio State when they lose to Michigan at the end of the season?

I don’t know what is worse: what happened in AA today, or being an overwhelimg favorite in a game like the one that was scheduled on Jan 8, and well, let’s just say there is some real irony in your thanking a team for showing up for a game.
This sucks. The Trojan’s win last January really loses its luster now.
Appilachian State is no Florida.
Face it, that is the biggest loss in college football history. Only fitting that a program so arrogant as Michigan gets that hung on them.
from an outside perspective today’s game was much worse compared to what happen to Ohio State. What happen today should never (and until today has never) happen…

If App State was William & Mary or Lehigh (or worse) then maybe one of the worst. But they are a TWO TIME defeneind I-AA champion school.
It’s a great win, but not the biggest upset ever.
don’t sugarcoat it, they are Michigan, the winningest college football program in history. they should NEVER lose to a 1-AA team, no matter how many championships they have won.

It is a very, VERY bad loss for them. I am not the only one who thinks this way, check the national media’s take on it.
I have, and not even ESPN’s coverage says “biggest loss ever”.
Michigan’s coach appropriately says “It is one of the biggest losses ever, but give all the credit to Appalachian State”.
