Buzz saw in Columbus will keep Big Blue in check. (And don’t forget about little brother)
Michigan is talented, and the team doesn’t really lose anyone (other than QB and WR with dropsies) for 2015. They will be good in 2015. In 2016, they will be awesome. OSU can take solace in the fact that they were among the top 4 among all CF. Congrats. OSU at top 4 will still not be close to UM in the near future. Still, I’ll be happy to have a top 4 team in the Big Ten.
According to the facebook posts from the last few months they have tons of talent and a horrible coach. Now they have the coach of their dreams. From what I’m seeing I think they’ve already started engraving uOFm on the championship trophies for 2016 on.
He took a group of nerds who went 1-11 and in 3 years had them coming in 2nd in the pac 10. Stanford had none of the advantages that Michigan does - who went to Stanford for athletics?
I’ll say 2 years till they are playing in the big 10 championship game.

I don’t know about that. . . .Urban Meyer is a big hurdle to overcome and Harbaugh didn’t do it with his recruits and the PAC 10 was down (relatively speaking) those years (and he had Andrew Luck). I like Harbaugh from when he was a Bear, but time will tell about his being a coach.

When Billy Gillespie came to Texas A&M, in his first year he took us to the NIT. The year before we won two games.
Bear Bryant has a pretty famous quote:
“I’ll take mine and whip yours. I’ll take yours and whip mine”.
All that being said, I don’t know how quickly Harbaugh can get that school up north back to prominence.
Michigan is talented…
People keep saying that. I know they should be talented, but in watching games, I’m not seeing it. Who are going to be the offensive play makers?
Michigan will get better but there are 2 top 10 programs in their own division. Those teams aren’t going anywhere.Expecting “awesome” in 2 years is a tall order.
As good as Harbaugh is, my gut feeling is that they improve over the next few years, but that they aren’t challenging Ohio State as the conference frontrunners at least until 2018. I’ll give it to UM, they have done absolutely everything in their power to turn around that program; step 1 was getting rid of that asshat of an AD. They’ve made all the right moves and on paper they have a lot of talent (though, as previously mentioned, they don’t have a QB worth beans and those highly recruited RBs and WRs have to date looked mediocre at best), but I just have the feeling that it’ll take 3+ years for Harbaugh to get his own guys in and really turn it around.

For starters how about one of the most sought after QB’s in that ginormous 5 star QB Morris who has been warming the bench as a frosh. Have you actually watched the game tape of that kid? Heck MSU was going after him full balls as was half the country including Saban who made him the #1 QB target when he was a junior in HS.

Have you been listening to Todd McShay?
Shane Morris has has an insanely strong arm and can throw if he gets a chance. Too bad the inept offensive line let him get killed in September.

Ha…no. McShay is a doofus. Morris has a very very strong arm and is a shorts and t-shirt all-american, but he can’t do it in front of 100,000 people or with a DL in his face. Despite his obvious physical abilities, he was barely mediocre even in high school http://www.maxpreps.com/athlete/shane-morris/6Ua6EPTyEeKZ5AAmVebBJg/gendersport/football-stats.htm . Kid just isn’t a gamer. If I were a betting man, I’d say it’s only a matter of time before Harbaugh goes with RS-freshman Wilton Speight over Morris.

No offense, but you are the one who hasn’t watched game tape. Morris is great in 7-on-7 and in a camp setting which is why he was so highly rated (and then absolutely nosedived when the actual season started), he was not good in actual high school games. http://www.maxpreps.com/...t/football-stats.htm. Those barely mediocre stats were against less than mediocre competition. And my God has he been bad in his field time so far at Michigan, dude has 5 INTS and not a single TD so far http://espn.go.com/college-football/player/_/id/546706/shane-morris. He’s not a gamer.

I’m talking about his time at Michigan I have no idea what he looked like in HS. I thought he looked great when he had a pocket to pass out of, problem is that was almost never. The only chance Mighigan had of scoring a point was to get a speedy QB…problem is that isn’t Morris. Gardner might be an ok QB too and he gave them a chance at creating something with his legs. I don’t blame any QB for getting murdered in that offense there is nothing even close to a block taking place for a RB or a pocket to scan out of…but on that rare occasion he got a chance to go through a progression I thought Gardner would be watching from the bench eventually.

Ummm, Morris has not just been bad during his gametime at Michigan, he has looked like he doesn’t belong on a college football field. Seriously, watch a game or at least google it before calling other people out. He has 5ints and zero TDs in his college career, a 35% completion percentage http://espn.go.com/.../546706/shane-morris. He has never been good with pads on, not in high school and certainly not yet at Michigan. Visit a Michigan football board, not an iota of faith in Morris. He is the epitome of a t-shirt all-american.
I totally get that his stats are not good, but I see a kid that I think could play if he had some kind of support around him. Ever since I watched Jason Cambell go through the ‘you suck you moron’ routine while he got murdered for 2 years and then suddenly he’s everyones hero when he goes 13-0 his senior year with a great running game and great pockets to work out of…I kinda look at the success of these guys through a much different lens. I thought Shane looked really good against K-State last year even though they lost that bowl game and that was the first time I ever saw him, but b/c they ran the ball for ~ 50 yards it was a self-fulfilling prophecy of screen pass left/screen pass right…just like this year there is nothing going on to help out a QB. Zero run game or pass protection. Plus Morris isn’t a run threat. Gardner saved Michigan from being a 2 win team with his legs. This season was even worse I think Mich ended up oustide the top 75 rushing offenses which makes the QB’s job hard with a good o-line, impossible with a bad one. I feel anyone short of say a Jameis Winston inserted into that offense would fail miserably.
Indeed he may not be good in the end, but I thought he performed in the bowl game quite well for what help he had which was nothing. This year the team mailed it in, Funchess was already dreaming of the NFL in October and was the only outlet a QB had. I saw effort level problems for Michigan which is more troubling to me than talent levels.
Does it really matter? Harbaugh was a bad judge of talent in Kaepernick. Then he pissed off management and took a huge pay raise demotion to return to college… He’ll burn these bridges too, long before he wins a national championship.

Everybody misses and yes, he has a very strong personality which doesn’t mesh well with a lot of people. That being said, Harbaugh was amazing at Stanford. I totally believe that Michigan can turn it around, that they’ll have zero issues bringing in elite talent (even moreso now with Harbaugh), and that their administration is making all the right moves; I just have the gut feeling that this isn’t Saban to BAMA. They’ll improve, but IMO they aren’t challenging Ohio State anytime soon.
Before they worry about MSU and OSU perhaps they should work on Rutgers, Maryland,Utah, and Minnesota.
Meantime, I’m making plans to watch an actual game on New Year’s and not just making up fantasies of what may be one day.
Go Bucks!

People who think Bama is going to walk away with this game are sorely mistaken and there are a lot of delusional Bama fans out there right now. I think if this new OSU kid is allowed to stand in the pocket the game is a nail biter. Heck OSU could win this game, but that new kid is going to have to manage his emotions well. Bama is super vulnerable 20+ yards down field and from what I watched in the BT champ game this kid can put it on target. Gonna be one heck of a game!
Edit: How 'bout those Domers! Damn that was a fun game. Glad to see Golson hold it together down the stretch.
