Michelin no longer making latex tubes?

Mentioned in velonews. Anyone else heard this?

Judging by their lack of availability i’d say they stopped making them about 18 months ago. I switched to Bontrager. Same tubes, more or less.

Interesting. I know PBK is out of stock of them for 23s and has been for a while. They always seem to come in and out of stock. Glad I just purchased a bunch of 20s.

Only problem with the Bonty’s is I haven’t been able to find one wiht a short enough valve them for a Zipp disc. Do they make a < 40mm latex tube?

They are still listed on the Michelin website

.

My LBS just ordered plenty
.

No, Bontrager only makes 50mm.

Vredesteins appear to have disappeared, too. I’ve been buying Bontys and Challenge latex tubes. I know they have a 47.5 mm stem version. That’ll still make use in a Zipp disc a “challenge.” Pardon the pun.

First I’ve heard of it and we just got some more of the Michelin latex tubes in this week. They go out of stock occasionally but it hasn’t been a big deal.

.

I’ve been using the 60mm valve now for 6 weeks or so in my cosmic handy that you don’t need a valve extension they feel more like the old vred thick but feel a little oily to touch 1 punture but might have just been unlucky there not my training wheels so hadn’t put much mileage up tyres where open corsa 320 which I’m convinced are thinner than old open corsa
.

I’ve been using a pair for both training and racing for the last two months. No flats. I used aerolab to test a gp4000s on an aluminum rim w/ the challenge tube vs a 50mm carbon rim w/ conti sprinter and the crappy aluminum rim w/ challenge tube was significantly faster.

That’s because of the sprinter tubular, not any of the other factors. Those tires are SLOW. Which is not to say that latex tubes aren’t FAST.
