Mich Ultra after a race? I actually want the carbs

I was just looking over the Georgia Rock and Rollman half IM and noticed they are providing Michelob Ultra to all athletes after the race. I also noticed the race was w/i 10 entries of filling and they decided to doubled the race entry cap, but that’s another story.

Wouldn’t you want to consume maximum carbs after an endurance event like this, as opposed to a low-carb beverage?

Don’t get me wrong, its free beer, right? But, I’m having a hard time accepting Michelob Ultra as the beverage of choice for the endurance athlete. Yet, it seems they trying to associate that beer w/ endurance athletes in their advertising campaign.

They had Michelob Ultra after St. Anthony’s last week. I couldn’t believe this stuff. I think it has no alcohol and no carbs. I think it is actually water with some additive that makes it taste like beer. Very strange product, but no, it is not free beer. It is just free. Still, it is better than no beer at all.
