Thanks.

Im pretty sure it was potts who i saw yesterday but if you thought lances spacers were bad Potts took it to a new level.

Its an awesome race if anyone is in the area for the race ever i recommend doing it. Racing on the island was just a blast.

they are up on active… http://results.active.com/pages/displayNonGru.jsp?pubID=3&rsID=75769

The story is getting uploaded to the slowtwitch home page as we speak. Plus we have results from the Kiwi and Aussie National Championships up now.

Woah, Potts lost by 2 seconds! What a race!

Andrew Yoder can ride a bike. That’s another impressive ride.

Especially for a 20 year old. If you take his age out of the top 10, the average is mid 30’s. About time that some teenagers began to step up begin to put the old guys out to pasture. Only 10 seconds behind Leito on his split, and ahead of Matt Reed, kid has some wheels…

Rumor has it that Yoder pushed it super hard on the bike and then “faltered” a bit late on the bike. So if that time is “faltering”, I can only say WOW.

He’s 20, and he’s a good cyclist who likes to ride hard. He’ll learn pacing eventually. Or maybe he won’t, and talent either will or will not overcome that. We’ll see. I’d say that is probably Lance Watson’s biggest obstacle - teaching him to race a triathlon, rather than just the bike. He’s also quite young, so he doesn’t have nearly the endurance base to overcome errors in pacing that someone like Lieto or Matt Reed or Potts would. He’s a very nice kid who, in my limited interaction with him, loves to race hard, especially on the bike. So I’m not surprised to hear that he didn’t pace it like a veteran. He isn’t a veteran.

Anybody know what happened with the pro women? The articles say that most of the pro women registered decided not to race leaving only 6 that did it. That seems strange-they all could not have been injured.
