Mexican Rigs in US?

Is this a good or bad thing? Starting Sept 6th there is a pilot, year-long experiment with reciprocity. Any thoughts from those in the know? Any thoughts on if this will affect border states in any way?

I believe the Latins already monopolize the trucking industry , If you pull into a truck yard in Maine there will be 10 Mexicans running the yard. There is a shortage of truck drivers that can past the test -physical - background check for fuel trucks / hazmat .

They want to drop the age to 16 -18 for truck drivers , My uncle drove for 10 years . He had stories of long hours - the trucks are tracked by GPS - you unload your own truck - theft of gear .

I have no worries about safety of Mexican trucks , as the highway patrol are like Nazis . One bad tire / brake / paper work problem - they are stopped . One Colorado officer makes highway stops with an M4 after a few unpleasent drivers figure they had him out gunned.

We’ve been in violation of NAFTA since we signed that agreement. The US trucking industry has put every barrier possible to stop the Mexican trucks from crossing the border. It’s now mostly over.
