what a guttsie performance by Peter Robertson!! Reto Hug in 2nd and Brad Kahlefeldt in 3rd.
Why was it a gutsy performance by Robertson?

from watching it live on the web, it looked like about 30 guys came of the bike together (big surprise). Robertson put a surge in after the first half mile and just dangled off the front for the whole way and barely hung on for the win.

Nothing more than an observation, so please nobody eviscerate me: It looks like the #22 guy raced age group at Disney Half. I did not realize that ITU pro’s can race WTC age group. I don’t really care, but it is interesting.

could very well have happened, especially now that WTC has their own rules (or lack of). Actually that isn’t a fair statement, they do have rules, they are just lacking in enforcement.

this must make robbo one of if not the most successfull olympic distance athlete at the world championships, in his last five world championship appearances(he missed 2004) he has won 3(01,03,05) and finished second in the other two(00,02).
absolutley awesome race by emma snowsill also, pitty she didnt race at atlanta due to not getting selected in the australian team even though she was the world champion at the time!!

Robbo is gutsy. I have a race on tape from the 90s when he was a young guy and racing the St.George series in Australia against Brad Beven and Welchy. In this race he abosulutely destroyed himself trying to drop Bevan. He had to do it about 8 times to win, and this was when Bevan was awesome.

As a performance, this is one of the most inspirational things I have ever seen. When I am feleing soft and don’t want to train, if I put that tape on I am out the door before it finishes.

You just wouldn’t believe it unless you saw it.

i watched it live on the net and it did look like a very gutsy performance.

Someone should care because they CAN’T take AG spots per WTC rules & the waiver athletes sign when they register … i guess it’s possible he won’t start in Kona?
