Yawn… I bet she also probably trains more on her bike than 95 percent of triathletes train all three sports. The argument is NOT to strength train or not to strength train. The argument is WHEN is it appropriate. Most AG’s time would be better spent running an extra half hour vs lifting a half hour. Or for that matter swimming a half hour. But yea! we can have another strength training thread with people arguing about it without understanding the basic premise of the debate.
I just think it’s fun.
I don’t believe she does those exercises regularly, they would not be beneficial to someone who trains a lot. I wouldn’t call that strength training, I would call it assessing rotator cuff function and determining that it is functioning adequately.
I lifted “very very very hard” this winter. What I can tell you is this; “Never Again.” I used to run 5k’s after drinking beer all night long under 17:00. 1 off-season of dedicated lifting and a ‘what used to be a cake walk,’ this new number called 19:00 almost killed me; but I didn’t have as much of my beer. So is it the beer that I am missing or are my oversized quads/hams putting my cardio on back order? I look bad ass and feel like a rats ass. Never agin…

Have you replaced run workouts with lifting? That could be the problem…
it was evenly blended. milage was roughly 20% less. maybe it will help later as some have suggested. i just feel “clunky and thick” mcquaid’s on a different level though…
