For those of you planning on being at Ralph’s 1/2 Ironman next weekend, there are a handful of us that are going to try to meet up at the Expo/Registration on Friday. So if you’re around and want to put some faces with names and maybe grab a bite or a beer, get your fit triathlete butt on down to Oceanside.
The plan is to meet up at 2:00, and I’m suggesting the west end (and entrance??) of the Expo. This is assuming it’s in the same place it is last year. This is basically the intersection of Harbor Drive S, and N Pacific Street and is about 100 yards from the finish line. Once we meet up, we can get some grub, a beer if you’re willing, a margarita if you’re so inclined, or a stuntman if you’re downright stupid.
So I’m in, I know ironclm is coming, and I hear jaylew is likely to stop by as well. All are welcome to join us.
My son (a newbie) and I are going to the TNO groupy swim and breakfast down in La Jolla. I will try to drag his butt up to the Expo and meet up with you guys at 2:00. He is very nervous about his first 1/2IM and about being beat badly by his 59 year old father. I am sure meeting up with Slowtwitchers will drain him of any self-confidence he has left by then.
Well I am not racing there, but I’ll be out there to cheer you all on. I will arrive friday at lunch time in San Diego and should make it to the expo by 2pm. I’d love to say hello to everybody there, and connect a face and a voice to these screen names.
Cheers,
Herbert

I’ll be at the Gatorade/USAT National Training Center Booth. Come by and pick up a free Gatorade Bike Bottle and information on the NTC. Mention that you saw this on Slowtwitch and I’ll give you a Gatorade hat or t-shirt. Z
Mike - samples of the new Gatorade Endurance Formula will be in the athlete packets - Great stuff - athletes have been training with it at the USAT-NTC - I gave some to Lisa Bentley about three weeks back - she loved it - hope she does well in Ironman Austrialia this weekend.
Gatorade Endurance will not be on the Ironman courses this year. It is only in power form so we will continue to supply the Ironman race courses with ready to drink product. This is to make sure the product is pure and clean, as we can never be sure of the water at each site.
