Slowtwitchers… here’s a chance to meet 4x Ironman Finisher and Hockey Hall of Famer Pat LaFontaine on July 16th in Macomb, Michigan. Please join us for a charity golf outing to raise money for Pat’s “Companions in Courage” Foundation. Since Pat’s retirement, he has dedicated himself to building interactive play rooms in Children’s Hospitals across North America. These rooms known as “Lions Dens” provide children the ability to interact with family, friends, and celebrities through interactive “pods”. All money raised from this golf outing will benefit a Detroit area “Lions Den” to be announced in the near future.
As many of you already know, Pat has successfully finished Ironman Florida 3X and Ironman Lake Placid. He plans on racing one Ironman race each year with the vision of putting a lions den in each of the North American cities which host an Ironman event. This is a way of thanking those communities and volunteers 24/7.
