U2. They once were not mediocre but everything after Pop in 1997 has been mediocre at best. The should have hung up their spurs 20 years ago.
I’d go even further. I reckon U2 lost their edge, sold out & thus jumped the shark when they released The Joshua Tree. I had them all alone at the top of the pile when that album came out & was devastated when I heard it!!!

You left out Nickleback!
I thought that was a given …
Curiously your choices seem to be mostly Canadian. Is that because most American bands just outright suck?
Not sure how you came to that conclusion. The thread is about mediocre bands that won’t go away. The clear answer is, with the exception of the Holy Trinity that is Rush, all music Canadian sucks moose balls.
If I never hear Huey Lewis and the News again it will be too soon. One of my local stations seems to play them a lot, and it drives me nuts. Admittedly I thought they were pretty cool for about a month back in the 80s.
When it was Hip to be Square? Or when you needed a New Drug?
First of all, 3EB is far and away better than JEW. Let’s clear that up right away.
The answer to your question, though, is definitely The Beatles.
Little early on Friday to be smoking crack, isn’t it?
I have the Beatles Channel on all the time in the car. Even have converted both sons into fans.
Honestly, I’m not a huge fan of the Beatles. Most of their songs just don’t do much for me.
I was referring to him thinking Third Eye Blind is a better band then Jimmy Eat World, or, any band for that matter.
You’re an idiot.
I’ll give you more fodder.
The Beatles could have great if they’d been able to take off from their later stuff and become an actual … you know … rock and roll band. They were an early incarnation of boy band pop bullshit, and it wasted years of the band’s life.
Part of that is tongue in cheek to get you riled up. But people like to remember roof top rock concert and forget about top 40 garbage and screaming girls that made it impossible to hear themselves play.

Nickleback was the band that made you sad that Creed was gone. “My God, I thought Creed sucked. Please, bring 'em back!”
If Creed was still around, they would be a perfect addition to this thread.
JSA is throwing around some pretty huge names in the music industry.
This thread is supposed to be about bands that maybe were a flash in the pan, or had a few big singles decades ago, and are still somehow out there touring, and have released 12 records that seemingly nobody knows about.
