If you buy a Mavic track IO, 5 spoke front wheel, will it fit a standard road fork? Are the front forks of a track bike the same width as a standard road bike?
It will fit in a road fork as both have a 100 mm OLD and 9 mm axle. The only issue is with the braking surface, and cold weather impact resistance. There is none of either.
Let me know if you see a used one pop up on eBay, mine was stolen a few weeks ago.

The iO will fit your road fork - but it is not designed for road use at all. There were a few riders (Damiano Cunego) using the iO in the prologue of the Giro d’Italia - but that was only a little over a kilometer, and I am sure a brake pad did not touch the iO.
I love my iO - however, I would never run it on anything but wood…
