Mavic IO - 5 spoke carbon wheel

Hi all,

This wheel caught my eye. Does anyone know how much it costs? And does anyone out there have a friend of a friend of a friend who has experience with it?

Just curious,

If you have to ask, you cannot afford it.

WOW!!

That Much!!!

Damn!!

Sorry, just being cute. I don’t have any info on that wheel. But if my memory serves me right, the Mavic disc wheel costs upwards of $1800, so I would be thinking in that range.

I’m sure it’s a nice wheel, but if two of the most technological pro teams (ONCE and Postal) use Mavic discs and HED 3’s that they pay for, that might say something about the HED 3 vs. this wheel.

Yikes!

Yikes!

and more Yikes!

$3,000?!!!

again Yikes!

I’ll stick with my good 'ol “Ebay special” Specialized Trispoke.

Thanks,

its also a track specific wheel.

i talked to a guy at the shop about it…he quoted me 5k+ CDN.

The disc is 3k+ CDN…crazy prices!!!

Mind you, if you can afford it, why not!

I got a chance to check one out at the AVC race in Indy last year. The wheel is pretty light, but does not have a braking surface and is not designed for road use.

Spend your $3000 on an endless pool.

It costs $3,000 is available in 700c at 750g and 650c at 700g is front wheel and tubular only and designed for track use and according to Johns Cobbs latest catalog it has a significantly lower drag than the HED 3.

I’m still waiting for the rear wheel to be available. I think they are just too much cash to produce in any quantity.

I’m sure it tests just as well as the Mavic or Hed trispoke in the wind tunnel.
