Maurten Drink Mix

Anyone know anything about this product from Sweden? Saw a small except on National Geographic Breaking Two documentary about supposed revolutionary new technology.

Hydrogels ability to bypass stomach and quickly be absorbed in the intestines for greater, quicker, carb absorption.

Hasn’t been available in the US until today (TheFeed.com, Maurten.com) so haven’t had an opportunity to try it out.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Are you related to NextWoods or is it just coincidental that 2 jerks come onto ST at the same time blabbering about some product that I can assure you I will never use and I highly encourage everyone else to boycott as well.

Not sure who Nextwoods is but am curious about Maurten. Lots of press as of late and thought someone in this community would have experience using it.

I live in Gothenburg where Maurten is based. I did a few running races this year with it, but no triathlons. So far no gut issues during training or racing, which is a welcome change for me. The 320 is ridiculously sweet tho, but since the taste is plain I find it somewhat tolerable.

You are a shill to sell whatever this product is. Such behavior is not well tolerated on this site and you are doing your company a disservice. I advise you to stop.

Thanks for bringing up this topic - I tried it and it gave me severe GI issues. Would not recommend.

Interesting how both of you signed up and had your first post about the same product. And when I called you out, both of you replied to me immediately. I’m calling BS on your BS. I’m also calling Slowman … Dan, please ban Nextwoods and EnduranceJunkie from ST.

Registered within 3 minutes of “eachother”.

Seriously PR guy from Maurten, it would’ve been better for you to come in officially representing Maurten and give out some free samples or maybe a coupon code. I would’ve ordered that shit immediately. But with these antics, leaves me wondering if you handle your product QA as well as you handle your PR stunts.

Speaking of promos or coupon codes, the pop-up on the above link indicates “Hello, we’ve got a NEW bottle with your name on it…Enter your email to get a free bottle and Clif Organic Energy Food” and requires email entry. Upon entering an email, you learn that the promotion is only applicable with a $10 purchase. It’s unfortunate for this to not be known until after the email is added to their ListServ.

I know this is not practical for everyone but I own a domain, say… @mydomain.com … and basically what I do is I forward everything that is emailed to that domain, say… maurtensucksass@mydomain.com to a gmail account I have. This gives me the ability to sign up for shit, and then simply block that email from reaching my inbox. I find this super practical and basically every time I sign up I give out a different email, so I know who the heck is selling out my info.

I tried it once. I got it through my ex-girlfriend who is a Swede. Let’s just say, her giving that junk to me is half the reason I broke up with her. It felt like she was trying to kill me. My bathroom will never be the same.

I drank a sip of it and died. Would certainly not recommend it to anyone after dying. Now that I’m dead because of Maurten Drink Mix, I can’t say that it is a horrible product. But I would if I could.

I gave some Maurten to my dog when he began to beg
Then he licked his bowl and he looked at me and did the wild thing on my leg

I´m Henrik Wingstrand, Chairman of the Board and co-founder of Maurten, a small Swedish start-up. I honestly don´t know who is behind NextWoods and EnduranceJunkie. It is possible that these posts have been made by very enthusiastic, but somewhat naive, persons associated in one way or another with our company. If this is the case I sincerely apologize to this forum and to anyone who has been offended.

I have done that, and I have also used SpamGourmet dot com. Their forwarding works well, because you can set the max number of messages to an e-mail, and then if you want to continue to use it you can either reset the number or allow all. It is a free service, but I have found a couple places that did not allow email addresses from them for some reason, even though ones from my own domain have worked.

First of all, I did just register but I am not a shill. If I were, I wouldn’t say that Maurten shouldn’t require a freaking $48 minimum investment for those curious to try their products. Why not have a single serving price so I can find out if it makes me sick before I buy a whole box?!?

That said, it’s an interesting and unique product if it’s really 600 calories per 24oz bottle. It might be garbage but at least it’s unique and worth talking about. I have tried the SiS isogels that Froome uses and I think they’re good, although too expensive.

Does anyone remember the northern european high-calorie drink that Excel Sports used to sell 10-15 years ago? It came in a little box shaped like a kid’s juice box and it had like like 500 calories??? The rumor was Lance used it despite his Gatorade sponsorship.

i locked the other thread. i’m locking this one too. same reasons.
