Those massage chairs always feel good the times I have tried one in a furniture store. Not good enough to buy one, but just good enough to make me think that there may be a better one lurking out there that actually is worth buying?
So how about it: Has anyone found one they thought was worth buying, and after having lived with it for a while do you still feel it was a worthwhile purchase?
I’d be interested to hear any feedback too. It’s great to get a real massage on a regular basis, but do these chairs offer any real benefits for between massage, day-to-day use?
.
I have one as a christmas present ~2 yrs ago. I use it all the time, but in clusters. I’ll use it daily for a week or two, then not use it for a month then use it regularly again. Just about anyone who visits finds their way to that dedicated chair. It’s a kind of shiatsu-thingy, has a couple of ball-like structures that make little circles on both sides of your spine as they move up your back. It sits on top of a regular upright chair, I have mine on one of those semi-reclining chairs from Ikea. I can’t recall the machine name, I’ll check it out this evening when I get home and post it.
Great for the lower back, where it can really dig in because of the way it sits in a chair. Not too good for upper back/neck region, depends on your body length, mine is too long for a decent upper back message.
I don’t get regular messages, so can’t compare the chair to the real thing. I also have a foot messager that rocks, again not better than the real thing but WAY better then nothing.
I bought one about five years ago from Sharper Image. It was about $600.00 and I still use it…now that you mention it, I’m going to sit and relax for a bit!
