These various discussions on LS and Cody have made me think about what may be a somewhat exciting time in our sport.
I know in the US you guys/gals are not as enthusiastic about ITU/draft legal TRI but through marketing work from Super League Triathlon and an exciting new wave of young ITU triathletes coming up and challenging the old guard, some really interesting and likeable characters in our sport are emerging!
For North Americans there’s the Tyler (who is becoming richer by the day), Jelle Geens, Vincent Luis, Leo Bergere, etc, all great characters who like an interview and make our sport more accessible and interesting to bigger audiences.
But maybe the most exciting and likeable of all may be the new kiwi on the block: Hayden Wilde.
For as much as people like LS for his relatability (came to excel at triathlon from an unorthodox background and had to sort of make himself), Hayden also is maybe not your current days typical young ITU triathlete. And he’s an awesome interview waiting to happen!
