Good news for the family and friends of the marine.

Thank God. I guess guilt finally got the best of him. I hope he came around on his own rather than under questioning.

I doubt it was guilt. It was the thought of another 5 years in prison if he didn’t come forward.

While it is great news that the got the killer…

I still have a sick sick feeling in my stomach at the loss of this Marine - who was a triathlete, someones husband, someones son, someones friend, someones brother, someones coworker.

I know my wife would be devestated if I were killed. I would be devestated if this was my brother or my friend or my kid.

This is a person who died, not just a story in the newspaper or on TV.

The person who killed him needs to pay a very high price for the damage he did.

I would be suprised if he was senteneced to more than 5 years. It wouldn’t be shocking if he did no jail time.

So very well put Sparticus. Was reading this from it’s initiation and just hate to see this type thread constantly popping up. Another stand-up individual who fought for his country , a husband , son , brother , friend , fellow triathlete and just another guy out doing what he enjoys.

Hope justice gets served properly.

Sincere condolensences to his friends and family.

Ride safe friends.

Though it should not matter, hopefully the fact that Capt. Patrick Klokow is a Marine in a Military City such as San Diego, will work against the driver.

A single ray of light on a dark day.

Anyone heard of any funds yet to help this guys family?

Well said Sparticus, it is sickening and I hate it as well. After doing his bit in the desert, while we all got to train and yuck it up everyday, only to get killed at home by a freakin car, seems somehow, wrong. It still bothers me and I didn’t even know the guy, I’m just glad that their are people like him, people he trained that do a thankless job, while I sleep in on Sundays and scratch my ass.

"And when I get to Heaven, to St. Peter I will tell,

Another Marine Reporting, Sir, I’ve spent my time in Hell.“”

Godspeed, Marine.

The only time I got to meet PK was at “That Dam Run” this year. He and I ended up in a pack at the front, for a while Steve C was running with us, but then he decided to chill a little bit and it was just Patrick and I for the last 5 miles or so. He was cranking hard, and I was giving it all I had to stay with him (I don’t normally run too well on trails being fat, uncoordinated, and generally retarded.) About mile 8.5 or so we went up this hill and he missed the turn about halfway up so I gave a yell and we regrouped and continued the fight. He put 5 seconds into me on the final climb on gravel and I didn’t have the heart nor the balls to try to chase after him on the last 1/4 mile of scary descent where I would certainly have twisted an ankle. The guy was a true competitor, and had some pretty huge cojones. It was an honor to race with him and be beaten by him that day.

what a coward, its sick

Last night, they reported that his wife in on duty in the war as a helicopter pilot. How odd, I am sure she thought he was in a safer place than she. They said he had a helmet / light / bright colored clothing.

Police said he was hit a few times after the first impact with the van. From the med. examiner evidence, he was most likely killed instantly.

A little piece of us dies as well.

How absolutely tragic that someone who had devoted his life to defending our nation, our society, our way of life doesn’t even get enough respect from his killer to come clean without arm twisting from the police. Why is it so hard for people to do the right thing?

There have been several high profile hit and run deaths in the Philadelphia area recently. In each case, the driver was eventually found and charged with leaving the scene of a fatal accident. In almost every case, there were signs that the driver may have been DUI, but no charges were ever filed because the driver wasn’t stopped and tested at the time of the accident. Some people would rather get labeled a scumbag for not stopping than risk a homicide by vehicle charge.

I’d like to run him over a few times. damn coward. eye for an eye.
