I love this forum for triathlon, but was wondering if there is an equivalent forum for marathon running?

Did you check out Runners World? There’s guise there that run Marathons **every week. But you should just go there for RR. It’s owned by a magazine and is pretty strictly moderated.
yeah, despite the pedestrian nature of runners world, their forums are pretty ok and there’s some speedy people over there. THey even have their own version of teh LR which is still a cespool of political bickering
If you want to read through older threads for the best free training advice that money can buy, letrsun is where it’s at. There’s still the potential to get good advice on there if you start a thread, but be prepared to wade through some garbage.
