I love my Kestrel km40 and take pretty good care of it, but there are a few places where the mango yellow paint has chipped off, to reveal the primer underneath. I’ve heard that this is a common problem with the old kestrels, and I know it doesn’t effect speed, but I’d like to keep the bike looking nice. Has anyone had a similar problem? I’m trying to figure out what the exact color is so I can try to touch it up.
Thanks.
I`ve all ways used Nail varnish to cover any chips, comes in many many colors.
I would take the bike down to a hobby shop and see if they can match it up. It’s not hard to match up. Do ask to test apply the paint on a hard surface to see if it matches up correctly.
Call Kestrel…they should have some…
Call Dan at Kestrel, my old 200 lost some paint when built and they sent a touch up bottle to England foc!
Go to WalMart or a hobby store. There are about a million colors of Testors model paint - often $1.50 a bottle for paint, a bit more for glitter and color change paint.
