As a fellow fast twitcher trying to make my way in a slowtitch world, I have raced 3 times the last 3 weeks. 2 Splash n Dash’s and 1 sprint. total distance for all 3 is about 2k swim, 20k bike, and 14k run. Total time is a little over 2 hours. The first S n D was quite painful as I hadn’t done any speed work and hadn’t even made it past the bike portion of a tri in more than a year. The tri was a little better although gale force winds while a scending a slight grade(3 lap course) made for a bike split 2-3 minutes slower than normal. The 2nd S n D this AM was better. Water was a little over 70 and I went sans wetsuit with no problems. I didn’t have a HR monitor on, but I must have been pushing 180 on the 2nd lap of the 4k run. I had a goal time of 16 minutes for the run but I by my watch I was about 17:30.
OH yeah, I actually felt pretty good considering I did 85 on the bike yesterday.
