Second time this year our area has been hit my mail thieves. People think the internet is unsafe for business, but I’ve been hit by mail thieves multiple times.
They must be looking for tax refund checks or something. Hah, lucky for me I never get a refund…
My mom just had a check stolen from her mailbox she left out to send. They washed it and rewrote it for $300 so she will not be leaving checks out anymore. She lives in a “safe” neighborhood at the end of a street so they were looking for checks.
The funny thing is my smarter half is always telling me that I shouldn’t do the same and I always ignored the warning, but not anymore.
that is common where I live as well…the post office put out additional “blue boxes” and tells people to not send out checks in the (curb side residential) mail box as that red flag is only an invitation that lets theives know something is in there. I just take any checks to work where the mail man walks in and picks up the mail every day.
