Mad Ex’s Against Triathletes Plan Protest At Kona Ironman

**AP. **Honolulu.

A divorce advocacy group, Mad Exes Against Triathletes (“MEAT”), intends to protest at the annual Hawaii Ironman event this year, according to Gloria Sanderson, president of MEAT. “We think its high time, our voice should be heard,” said Sanderson, who herself is involved in a bitter split with Owen Sanderson, an Ironman participant in this year’s event.

"It got to the point, where he just completely disappeared into this activity, quit his high paying job, dragged me around to all of these stupid races all day long, early in the wee morning, he stopped feeding the dogs, and started shaving his legs, and that’s when I said, that’s it, " Sanderson complained.

“To be honest, I never really liked the whole bunch of people, with their healthy food kicks, tight pants, and massage parlors after the race,” said Sanderson. “It got to the point, where, if I heard any more race music, like ‘Eye Of The Tiger,’ again, I was going to completely lose it.”

Like many other of its members, there are other frustrations, at odds in Sanderson’s family dispute, have been the marital property division disputes over equipment purchased during the marriage, by the triathlete. This has started a landslide of bitter feelings by ex spouse’s of triathletes.

According to Sanderson, in her case, she discovered their family fortunes were secretly squandered into the purchase of several expensive Pinarello bikes, and tons of equipment, wheels, suitcases, countless uncovered knee surgeries, MRIs, accupuncture treatments, ITB release surgeries, running books, carbon wheelsets, regular weekly massages, bags, goggles and wetsuits, according to Sanderson’s lawyer, Gabe Wheeling. “And that’s just the tip of the iceberg,” Wheeling said.

“One guy spent $3100 bucks in 2 years just on massage foam rollers,” said Wheeling, about another case he was working on.

Back in the Sanderson case, the squabble was over more than foam rollers, however. “You know, when this thing started, we asked him what property he had, and he just said, in his filing, 2 bikes,” said Wheeling. “That’s all he said, 2 bikes,” said Wheeling, laughing.

“And I’m like, yeah, oh, he’s just got a few bikes there, he hangs out on a nail in the garage, next to the lawnmower or something. Yeah, I’m like, right. Well, sorry, we aren’t leaving you alone on that, buddy. Like we are dummies over here. 2 bikes?, yeah, like 2 Pinarello Chrono bikes, with a $2,000 Reynolds wheelsets,” said Wheeling.

Wheeling, also the attorney for MEAT, advises all future ex-spouses of triathletes seeking division of marital property, to press the former spouse for asset discovery and not let them get away, with just making statements like the spouse had some kid like sports equipment, like, “2 bikes, black wheel framesets, for pond swimming.”

“Trust me,” said Wheeling, “you’ve got to know the lingo, to get the best out of it for your client. There’s a lot more in it than that.” After researching it, Wheeling found that “pond swimming suit” meant a $600 open water wetsuit," and “black wheelset meant a $3,000 carbon wheelset.” “And this guy had four of them,” said Wheeling.

Sanderson website encourages others to join up with MEAT.

(joke people…just kidding…that thread down there about dragging your family around got me going here)

Incredibly funny! Good job!

You should get a Tri magazine to pay you for these works, might help you pay for another “black wheelset”
.

FREAKIN HILARIUS!!!

I almost don’t want to show my wife, she’d probably want to start MEAT for real

You gotta love lawyers.

I love the “2 bikes” comment.

Mel Brooks – “Tragedy is when I cut my finger. Comedy is when you fall into an open sewer and die.”

The story is really funny (laugh out loud funny at some parts), but is also quite tragic that folks get so wrapped up into stuff that they forget what is important. I tell ya what … the scorned wife isn’t gonna be happy until she has the “2 bikes” melted down to scrap metal and used as a paper weight/doorstop.

Awesome. I still maintain that you have WAY too much time on your hands, however. Keep it up bro.

Bwuahahahahahahahahahaha!

That’s the funniest thing I’ve read in a month.

Good job, Booth!

A group of females calling themselves “MEAT” was an indicator that it wasn’t “completely serious”. I was envisioning it was displayed in a “Satire Internet Site”. Fiction or not, the scenario is very possible.

In other words, no I didn’t see the dsclaimer, but I’m not shocked that it “isn’t true”.

Hehehehehehe. Very good. Had me believing for a moment. I can almost see it happening.

Bravo Booth!

Hmm 50-50 my wife would either laugh along with this, or find some truth in it and say “WHAT?? Those were $600!?!”

I’m not going to open that can of worms.

when my wife saw my new Zipp 404 and tubies she said “oh looks like you bought some new tires”…ah yes I did honey…“how much are tires?” Oh not that much…$80-100…about a month later she found out that the Zipps aren’t part of the tire…
