Macca Anecdote from Alcatraz

I saw the elites finish at Alcatraz. Simon Lessing won. Chris McCormack was a minute or so behind him in second. Macca knew he had not won. He took the time running up and down the line before the finish to shake hands and high-five tons of fans. And he had a huge smile the whole time. He probably added 20 or 30 seconds to his time by doing this - but the fans loved it. I thought that was a really gracious thing to do.

The guy loves what he does, and it shows.

I recall an interview in an OZ magazine (or was it on TV during the F1 series) where he said that he had the best lifestyle he could dream of (that is racing all over the world for a living).
