I have a relatively new Macbook Pro, and it’s getting to the point where I need to have Windows available to run some of the software the Navy uses. Has anyone tried either Boot Camp or Parallels? I think the big difference is that you have to reboot into whichever OS (Windows or OSX) with Boot Camp, but not with Parallels.
I’d also look at VMWare’s Fusion product, which competes directly with Parallels. The few reviews I have read reported that the VMWare product was less of a drain on performance than Parallels, especially when starting a new windows VM.
I’ve had good results with Bootcamp + VMWare. I think what VMWare has over Parallels is the ability to devote both cores and full memory to either OS.
