I have started training on the tri bike and I have much lower numbers. Anyone know why? Had a fitting so it should be set up correctly. Numbers go up after I have been on for 40-50 minutes but still not as high as the road bike.
Generally, power numbers are always less on tri-bike (vs road bike). This is due to the ‘compromised’ aero position via closed hip angle. Tri/TT bikes exceedingly make up for this through aero-dynamic position of rider, less wind resistance, frame design, etc…producing faster times…(assuming *fit *has been optimized).
As per both comments above. I found it took a while to get used to the ‘tri’ position and I have found that I now closer between the 2 bikes, but there is still a difference.
Thanks for the feedback. I did have fitting at fit werx (great shop) I have been slacking and riding the road bike because it’s easier to see the TV on the trainer. I have switched to music when I switched the bike so hopefully by race seasson thsoe numbers will be closer.
